World Clique is the debut album by the dance-music band Deee-Lite, released in 1990. The album’s first single, “Groove Is in the Heart”, was a top-five success on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart as well as a number-one hit on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. It’s still heavily played worldwide today, with over 270 million plays on Spotify.

The funk credentials of this album are insane. There are guest appearances by Bootsy Collins, Q-Tip, Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker. The colorful videos of the band, starring iconic and striking singer Lady Miss Kier, have found new life in the video streaming era (99 million views for Groove Is In The Heart!).
