I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone is Wednesday’s second full-length album and first as a full band. The Asheville, NC quintet blends together shoegaze, grunge, indie pop, and southern American culture in a unique modern rock style – featuring Karly Hartzman’s bell-clear vocals, three guitar attack, pedal steel guitarist Xandy Chelmis, bassist Margo Schultz, and drummer Alan Miller. The album’s eight songs offer a balance between the band’s live performances and the emotionality of Hartzman’s lyrical narratives and literary references.
